After the main ceremony
in the playground, the senior students, from Primary 4 to Secondary
3, moved to the Gym to listen to a sermon from a monk.
Whilst the monk gave
his sermon, teachers and students clasped their hands together
in a respectful way.
A group of students were
then presented with scholarships.
Then a candle was lit
and the monk blessed the holy water.
The monk then walked
to the back of the gym. As he passed the sitting students, they
made a wai in the proper way to show the highest respect
to monks by bringing their head right down to the floor.
As the students filed
out of the gym, the monk blessed them with a sprinkling of nam
mon.
