June 26 is celebrated every year as Sunthorn Phu Day. Recognised by UNESCO, the celebrated Rattanakosin poet, Sunthorn Phu is remembered for his classical literary works by all Thai people old and young.

At school, the students take part in writing competitions and listen to his poems.
